My Skincare Routine

First off, I want to share with you a little about myself and what I love about Beautycounter for my skincare needs! A few years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and since then health and wellness has become very important to me. Focusing on nutrition, exercise, and replacing my household, skincare, and beauty products with toxic-free alternatives has been a huge part of my healing process! Adapting to a new diet, incorporating exercise, and finding natural, high quality household products was easy! I didn’t find this to be the case when it came to finding natural skincare and body products though – it seemed like I had to compromise performance. But then I found Beautycounter. I couldn’t believe the quality and was super impressed with the company’s integrity when it comes to ingredient selection.

Beautycounter’s products meet incredibly rigorous standards. They have a Never List of over 1500 chemicals they promise to never use when selecting ingredients for products. This is huge to me because over time, exposure to toxins add up and can cause a host of health problems – from infertility to cancer to developmental delays, autoimmunity, and so forth. Check out your skincare and beauty product ingredients to see how they compare!

I use two lines daily  – the Essential Nourishing Collection and the Balancing Collection. Hello to clear, hydrated, and poreless skin! Team #nomakeup for this mama! But for the days I decide to wear makeup, I go for a natural look and use the super lightweight Skin Tint Foundation in honey.

Let’s talk the nourishing skincare line first. It cleanses, hydrates, and protects all skin types. I have combination skin and this daily skincare regimen has left my face clear and healthier than ever before. This set lasts me approximately 6 months, so this collection is a true value for safe and high quality skincare. What’s included?

7 nourishing collectionNourishing Cream Cleanser: This is a creamy face cleanser for everyday use. I use both morning and night – just a tiny drop does the job. It cleans your skin and removes makeup, even eye makeup. Organic coconut oil, aloe, lavender, and other botanicals soothe and clean. Witch-hazel tones.

Nourishing Cream Exfoliator: My personal FAVORITE! This is a creamy, exfoliating face polish with non-abrasive jojoba beads. It is great for both dry and oily skin – it removes dead dull skin cells, leaving your skin renewed and radiant and keeps your pores clean. I believe exfoliation is the key to beautiful skin. I use this 3-4x per week after the cream cleanser.

Nourishing Rosewater Mist: This skin-softening, toning spray prepares skin for better absorption of skin care products. Two sprays covers my whole face! Made with organic rose essence, purified water, and moisturizing sodium hyaluronate.

Nourishing Eye Cream: I apply a dab of this lightweight, soothing eye cream after spritzing the rosewater mist to pamper the delicate skin around my eyes. Rich in aloe and organic coconut oil, this unscented formula is easily absorbed and offers an instant boost of moisture.

Nourishing Day Cream: Easily absorbed, lightweight yet hydrating face cream. I apply a pearl-sized drop every morning after the eye cream. The unscented formula includes a mix of organic coconut oil, safflower oil, and aloe to provide nourishing hydration, plus antioxidant-rich acai to protect against dryness.

Nourishing Night Cream: This non-greasy formula features rich aloe and organic coconut oil to help quench skin and lock in moisture, while organic green tea extract provides antioxidant protection. I love adding a drop of the balancing oil to the night cream before dozing off to glorious sleep!

Speaking of sleep, my 10 week old has been doing amazing at night! Owen falls asleep like clockwork every night at 9:30. He has been waking around 1:30 a.m. then sometimes again around 4 a.m. to eat and then goes right back to sleep! This mama couldn’t be happier . . . that first month was ROUGH!

Some of you like myself are looking to target a specific area of concern – redness, fine lines, maybe dull skin tone. Beautycounter+ offers unique three-piece collections (includes a mask, mist, and oil) specially formulated to address specific skin concerns. They offer a brightening, plumping, and balancing line. The balancing collection has done wonders for my combination, redness prone skin. 12 balancing set

The balancing facial mask absorbs excess oil, visibly minimizes pores, purifies, detoxifies, and clarifies complexion, and helps calm, refine, and smooth skin. Key ingredients include Charcoal Powder, Salicylic Acid, and Lactic Acid. I use this 1-2x a week after cleansing, then follow with the balancing mist and oil.

The balancing facial mist balances oily areas and hydrates dry areas, visibly minimizes the appearance of pores, helps purify, detoxify, and clarify the complexion, sets makeup without leaving a sticky residue, and provides antioxidant protection from environmental stressors. Key ingredients include Charcoal Powder, Kaolin, and Wild Rose Extract. This is a great setting spray! I no longer need a mattifying powder as this spray eliminates shine.

Our balancing facial oil helps balance and soothe and deeply nourishes and calms skin with Ylang Ylang and Wild Chamomile oils. I use one drop of this divine smelling oil each night with my night cream!

Again, these products have been a serious game-changer for my skin! I tried dozens of skincare lines before, from Proactive to Exposed Skin Care to Mario Badescu and many drugstore brands. They all either dried me out or made my skin oily. If you’re looking for long-lasting natural skincare that performs, Beautycounter is the way to go.
