The Great Outdoors

“And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.” -John Muir

Being surrounded by nature is one of my favorite things in life, next to being with those I love. Now that summer is finally here, I can’t get outdoors enough. Exploring nature trails, camping, hiking, or laying on a beach . . . each of these brings indescribable happiness and peace. It’s the combination of simplicity, beauty, stillness, yet uncontrollable wildness that is so enticing about nature. The very essence of life is everywhere. Adventure is endless.

Whenever I find myself feeling restless, escaping outdoors for a few hours always leaves me feeling refreshed and recentered. After several cloudy days with intermittent thunderstorms, today Owen and I were finally able to get outside. We explored a trail close to home and it was absolutely gorgeous out. Drinking in the wild air over several days of camping is the ideal nature escape, but I am so thankful for local trails like these that allow short trips spent outdoors.

All good things are wild and free.
